THE STORY OF JESUS

WEEKLY BIBLE VERSES:

August 3, 2008:

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood – to be received by faith.  Romans 3:23-25a (TNIV)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6 (TNIV)

August 10, 2008:

“Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield, your very great reward.”  Genesis 15:1

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.  Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.  Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Psalm 5: 11, 12 (TNIV)

August 17, 2008:

I am with you and will bring you back to this land.  I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.  Genesis 28: 15 (TNIV)

Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?  If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.  If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.  Psalm 139: 7- 10 (TNIV)

August 24, 2008:

So is my word that goes out from my mouth:  It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.  Isaiah 55:11 (TNIV)

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.  1Corinthians 15:58 (TNIV)

August 31, 2008:

The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths?  Who makes them deaf or mute?  Who gives them sight or makes them blind?  Is it not I, the Lord?  Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”  Exodus 4: 11-12 (TNIV)

And so you will bear testimony to me.  But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.  For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.  Luke 21:13-15 (TNIV)
